When you want to see the fastest, toughest cars that have ever been put together, it is time for you to purchase some Daytona 500 tickets and to bring your family along to the ride! Car racing has always been something that will get your blood flowing and that will let you watch an impressive performance of man and machine, and at the Daytona 500, you'll see some of the best racing that the world has ever known!

The History

The Daytona 500 is the direct descendant of shorter races that were held on Daytona Beach. These races that took place on this legendary spot were run partially on the sand and partially on the highway near by. In the past, the races were run at 200 mile intervals with stock cars. At that point in time, the cars had wipers and radiators that were meant to make sure that the sand that they threw up wouldn't damage the vehicles! Out of these beginnings in the first part of the twentieth century, the Daytona 500 was born.

Today

Today, getting Daytona 500 tickets is the best way to get up close and personal with some of the most awe-inspiring race cars of our time. The Daytona 500 is held in the Daytona International Speedway and it has been ever since it's first occurrence in 1959. The race itself consists of 200 laps that make up 500 miles, and during the race's fifty year history, it has produced some real champions. Many people regard the Daytona 500 as the most important and perhaps most prestigious NASCAR race. It is definitely the race with the biggest purse for the winner, and it traditionally the first race of the NASCAR season. After a day full of thrilling activity, the winner is presented with the Harley J. Earl Trophy, and for one year, you can see the winning car at the museum next to the Datyona International Speedway
